Turnbuckles

A turnbuckle is a rigging device used to apply tension, adjust tension, and eliminate slack in cables, ropes, and other assemblies. They consist of a body with both a right-hand threaded fitting and a left-hand threaded fitting. There are many turnbuckle end fittings, the most common being eyes, jaws, and hooks. There are also stub-end turnbuckles, that have an unthreaded stub on each end and are mostly used to push surfaces or objects apart. Once the end fittings are properly connected, tension can be adjusted by physically rotating the turnbuckle body. Shop our selection of turnbuckles from Crosby, Chicago Hardware, Campbell, and more.
